Our Environmental Policy

The safety and quality of the apparel that we offer for sale, the welfare of the people involved in our manufacturing, and the protection of the environment are our principle priorities. We fulfill these objectives by adhering to and complying with a number of norms, standards, and directives.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Mark (Öko-Tex) is probably the most widely recognised standard in textiles, which sets strict limits on the amount of substances harmful to consumers which can be found in the finished textile product. Although Oeko-Tex standards only address specifically consumer’s health issues, the necessity to comply with the criteria induces better environmental practices at the processing and manufacturing level. The standards offer significant environmental benefits.

All Continental & EarthPositive products are Oeko-Tex 100 Standard certified.

Okeo-Tex 100 Standard

The Oeko-Tex 100 Standard comprehensively addresses the Human Ecology component of textile product

s. It evaluates and screens for any harmful substances present within processed textiles intended to come into contact with consumers.

The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 encompasses the industries established testing criteria for textile products and also addresses
quality assurance and test procedures. It not only takes into account the finished textile goods, but also any associated accessories and "grey" product areas such as fibres, yarns and buttons. In this standard, the relevant harmful substances are defined together with limiting values,
taking into consideration the intended use of the product. For example: clothing articles worn close to the skin such as underwear and baby products.

An integral part of the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 system is the Quality Assurance by the producer who has to ensure that that
products manufactured or sold are representative to the samples tested for the Oeko-Tex certificate. Spot testing by the Oeko-Tex institutes of products selected from both the production and those available on the market is carried out, providing an additional control mechanism.
